日本中に衝撃が走った医師二人による難病患者に対する「自殺ほう助」事件。状況から考慮して、検察は二人への容疑を「殺人」と認定し捜査を始めました。事件を契機として「尊厳死」に関して改めて法整備に関する議論を求めた日本維新の会代表の松井一郎大阪市長に対し、ALSを患う現職の国会議員、舩後靖彦氏は「死ぬ権利」ではなく「生きる権利」を訴えました。
